January, as you may imagine, is generally a fairly quiet month for shipping here. The Gry Maritha, our scheduled mainland link, has operated three times each week within schedule and as with most winters, leaves the Island late on a Tuesday in order to get the best possible market price for the Island’s outgoing flowers.

One other visitor of note was the landing craft ‘Sabrina’. A fairly regular visitor to the Island she has started to bring plant from Penzance for the works being undertaken on Porthcressa during the summer.
