June 2012

Our Pilotage Authority has been working to capacity this month with many visits from cruise vessels and others alike. The month started with a visit from the small (52m) cruise vessel MS Quest who at 1268grt provides its customers with a very personal experience. She visited twice more in the following week.  The next few days saw  visits from the Ocean Nova, Island Sky and Marco Polo, all regular visitors this time of year followed by non cruise vessels such as the sail training ship Lord Nelson, the landing crafts Sabrina and Severn Sins and Padstow Harbour’s dredger, Mannin.

Other cruise vessels to visit were the 6130grt Silver Explorer, the Caledonian Sky and Clipper Odyssey whilst on the larger end of the scale, the classically shaped 20,216grt Discovery and our largest this year, the 30,277grt Azamara Journey both visited towards the end of the month. A total of 22 Pilotage Acts.
