DUCHY OF CORNWALL ST MARY’S HARBOUR
We are a Private Harbour run by the Duchy of Cornwall.
As the traffic hub of the Isles of Scilly we cater for around 2000 visiting yachts each year. Harbour users also include fishing vessels, local boat owners, inter island passenger launches and of course the ships used for the Island’s mainland connections.
As a Competent Harbour Authority we provide a Pilotage service for the Islands expecting up to 53 cruise ships in 2016, along with sail training vessels, large yachts and special cargo deliveries.
We are also classed as a Local Lighthouse Authority devolved under Trinity House enabling us to establish and maintain certain navigational aids around the Islands.
St Mary’s Harbour is owned and managed by the Duchy of Cornwall as part of the archipelago of the Isles of Scilly.
The Duke of Cornwall (as Statutory Harbour Authority for St. Mary’s Harbour, Isles of Scilly) is currently in the process of applying to the DfT to be designated with the power to give harbour directions under section 40A of the Harbours Act 1964 for the movement, mooring, manning and equipment of ships within, or entering or leaving their harbour. Your views are sought as part of the consultation process and as such, please follow the link below for further details.
